Hello, my name is Bienvenido Osorio. I'm a physician assistant student from Drexel University in Pennsylvania, and I just completed my family medicine clinical rotation at Open Door Health Center. I was fortunate enough to work alongside Dr. Soto and Dr. Perez to serve the people of Homestead. I learned a lot during my stay, and being at the center reinforced the reason why I wanted to become a PA in the first place, which was to give back to my community, to help people that, just like me, came to this country for better opportunities. Being at Open Door taught me how rewarding it is to give back, and I saw firsthand how these people appreciated all the services that are provided to them. No patient ever left without expressing the gratitude they had for our services, which made me feel like I made some type of a difference. As a future clinician, I will volunteer my services because we all need a helping hand. I wish Open Door Health Center and all its volunteers and staff the very best, and I want to thank them for everything they've taught me.
